Mission


To inculcate a spirit of scientific temper and analytical thinking, and train the students in contemporary technologies in Electronics & Communication to meet the needs of the industry. Department of Electronics and Communication was established in the year 2007 for imparting a state of the art education, training and research in the field of Electronics and Communication and allied areas. The department offers a Bachelor's program with an intake of 120 students per year. The department has a well experienced faculties and student strength of around 300.

The Department of ECE has state-of the- art laboratories in the areas of Advanced Communication, Embedded systems, DSP, Microwave and Optical Communication, VLSI system design. Department is prestigious with the latest synopsis tools to cater various specializations and is equipped with facilities for measurement, characterization and synthesis of experimental as well as theoretical results.

Dear friends,
It gives me great pleasure being the Head of the Department (HOD) of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) which is growing steadily since its inception in the year 2007. It offers four year full time B.Tech program in ECE. Every year we find some students take positions in various well-known companies and joining foreign universities for higher studies. The average passing result used to be excellent in the department. Apart from this we are running P.G. Program (M. Tech.) in Embedded Systems since year 2011. The department of ECE offers premier professional technical training that keeps in pace with the latest developments in the field of electronics and communication Engineering. The Department has proved to be one of the best within the state and extremely competitive in National Level. We have excellent infrastructure, highly experienced faculties and professional association with IEEE, IETE and ISTE which collectively ensure dynamic and vibrant environment in the campus. Our goal is to impart value based quality education along with development of positive attitude, skills and abilities to apply knowledge in order to meet the challenges of future. We impart quality education & training to students for shaping their careers. We provide opportunities to the students to reach his/her highest personnel and professional capability. We develop the personality and character of students by value based education.

Labs


ELECTRONICS DEVICES AND CIRCUITS LABORATORY

This lab is well equipped with all basic requirements of electronic components. The main idea is to focus on the basic working of Diodes, Transistors, oscillators and their applications in Rectifiers, Amplifiers and Oscillators. As a part of I year curriculum the above experiments are conducted in the laboratory


INTEGRATED CIRCUITS LABORATORY

This lab is well equipped with all the Integrated chips. The main idea is to focus on the applications of various IC’s like Opamps, 555timers… etc in different fields. As a part of III year I semester curriculum the above experiments are conducted in the laboratory. Students are also guided in doing the Mini Projects.


ELECTRONICS CIRCUIT ANALYSIS LABORATORY

This lab is a part of II Year I semester. It deals both the Hardware and Software part. This lab focuses on the working of power amplifiers, Voltage Regulators and their applications and they are simulated using PSPICE Software. The various power amplifiers include CLASS A, B, C and Push pull configurations. The lab is well equipped with the required Trainer Kits and provided with the licensed users of PSPICE Software


MICRO WAVES AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATIONS

This lab is well equipped with all the microwave devices. This lab deals with the micro measurements of the signals at micro frequency range. It involves measurement of frequency, wave length, VSWR, Impedance and scattering parameters of various micro wave devices like Circulator, Direction Coupler, and Magic --Tee. Using Optical Transmitter and Receiver Kits various characteristics of LED, LASER Diode and Optical fibres are studied. As a part of IV Year I semester curriculum the above experiments are conducted.


MICRO PROCESSORS AND MICRO CONTROLLERS LAB

This lab is well equipped with all the microprocessors and micro controllers. It consists of performing Intel Assembly language on processors of 8086,8085,8051(TRAINER KITS) and also by using Turbo Assembler, interfacing modules like stepper Motor, traffic lights, elevators, 7 segment display etc. Final year students have performed much application for there Project works on micro controllers (8051).


DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING LABORATORY

This lab is a part of II Year II semester and III Year I semester. It deals with the designing all types of Modulation and Demodulation techniques of transmitter and receiver, analyzing channel characteristics on which our present day communications depend. The Lab is well equipped with all the required Trainer Kits on which students can perform their experiments and test the different techniques available presently. The student projects and research work is supported in this Lab


ANALOG AND DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS LAB

This lab is a part of II Year II semester and III Year I semester. It deals with the designing all types of Modulation and Demodulation techniques of transmitter and receiver, analyzing channel characteristics on which our present day communications depend. The Lab is well equipped with all the required Trainer Kits on which students can perform their experiments and test the different techniques available presently. The student projects and research work is supported in this Lab


PULSE AND DIGITAL CIRCUITS LAB

This lab is a part of II Year I semester. It deals with Pulse shaping, Multivibrators, Oscillators, Switching Circuits…etc. The Lab is well equipped with the required Trainer Kits over which students perform experiments. Students are also guided in performing the MINI projects.


E-CAD (VHDL) LAB

This lab is a part of III Year II semester and it is provided with ACTIVE HDL to implement digital IC‘s using VHDL language. Apart from ACTIVE HDL we are provided with ALTERA, MAXPLUS 2 Simulator, XILINX-CPLD and FPGA Kits used for implementation of VHDL code. This lab is well equipped with 30 systems with licensed users of ACTIVE HDL Simulator 4.2.


Library


The CHILKUR BALAJI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY has a central library with centralized A/C and digital library which is of 2 floors duplex one with an area of 400 Sq.feet of each. The first floor of the central library is general library and the second floor is e-library which is equipped with 12 systems for the use of students. The library has a collection of 1847 titles and 10,135 volumes. The college is subscribing 42 National and 21 International journals and also subscribing e-journals for the students both technical and general which not only help them with technical assistance but also refresh their mind.

The library has been the most integral part of the college from its existence. The staff and students can utilize the INTERNET facility for which 10 systems have been separately allotted. The library timings are from 9AM - 4PM in the week days. The library is very much student-friendly as they can spend time even before and after college. The system followed in the library is fully automated. Daily, on an average, 100 - 150 and 150 - 250 users during examination days visit the library and utilize the facilities. Besides this, a few more students and staff during the extended hours for their project and research work through INTERNET are allowed in the library.


Transport


A full fledged Transport department functions in the college with buses to provide transport facility to students and staff from various places. This service is offered ensuring a hassle-free and safe transportation. The College runs 6 buses for providing transport facility to students from various places in the city.

Canteen


Chilkur Balaji Institute Of Technology has a spacious canteen in a hygenic environment. It caters the needs of students and faculty. Canteen is open from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm. Canteen supplies South Indian and Chinese Cuisine.

Chilkur Balaji Institute Of Technology is AICTE aaproved college and Affiliated to JNTU, Hyderabad. It has got impressive number of admissions in the year 2012. And about 80% of students were placed last year. It was possible due to the dynamic faculty running under their departmental heads , who make sure that students grow in every possible way.

Eligibility


The intake of students is through two categories :


'A' category


The admissions into A Category are made by Govt. of A.P. through Centralized Counseling. The students have to qualify in Intermediate or equivalent exam with a minimum of 45% and must qualify EAMCET exam conducted by Govt. of A.P. The admissions will be made through web counseling, for other details visit apeamcet.nic.in.


'B' category


The admissions into 'B' category will be made by the management of the College based on the merit in EAMCET/Intermediate.
